About Us
The school is surrounded on the most part by common land and has spacious, light and airy accommodation on two floors. The superb grounds include a trim trail, and a large playground and field. The school is continuing to develop the outside area by working with the local community to create an outside classroom area containing a pond, garden, rockery and meadow area.
The school was built on part of the site of a Free French Camp established during the 2nd World War. General de Gaulle visited the camp, in fact he was frequently seen in Camberley and later gave his permission for the school to bear the name of 'Lorraine' and to have the Cross of Lorraine as part of its badge. In June 2005 surviving members of the Free French Lorraine 342 Squadron visited Camberley and presented a plaque to the school, which can be found in our hall. |
